Customer Onboarding Specialist project

Congratulations! You have just been hired as a Customer Onboarding Specialist for MitaKit.

MitaKit is an online platform that provides users with useful tools for working with PDFs, images, academic calculations, QR codes, unit conversions, and other everyday digital tasks.

Your responsibility as a Customer Onboarding Specialist is to help new users understand:

  • What MitaKit does
  • What problems its tools solve
  • How to use the different tools
  • Which tool to choose for a particular task
  • How users can get value from the platform

Your goal is not simply to advertise MitaKit.

Your goal is to make a first-time user comfortable enough to use MitaKit successfully without needing additional help.

Your Assignment

Visit the Product Page – https://mitakit.com or search for Mitakit on google and ensure you land on the product page!
Spend time understanding what the product is used for as described above!

Create a Customer Onboarding Guide for MitaKit.

Imagine that the person reading or watching your guide has never used MitaKit before.

Your walkthrough should take the customer from:

“I don’t know how this works.”

to:

“I understand it, I can use it myself, and I know how it can help me.”

Part 1 – Introduce MitaKit

Start your onboarding by briefly explaining:

What is MitaKit?

Explain what the platform does in simple language.

Who can use MitaKit?

Identify some potential users.

For example:

  • Students
  • Teachers
  • Office workers
  • Business owners
  • Freelancers
  • Job seekers
  • Content creators
  • Administrative assistants
  • Anyone who regularly works with documents or images

Why would someone use MitaKit?

Focus on the problems the platform helps users solve.

Do not simply list features.

Part 2 – Demonstrate the Tools

Visit MitaKit and explore the available tools.

Choose at least five MitaKit tools from the tools page and create a walkthrough showing a new customer how to use each one.

In your Write-up document, highlight the tools you chose!

For every tool you select, your onboarding guide must explain:

1. What does the tool do?

Explain its purpose in simple terms.

2. When would a customer need it?

Give a realistic situation where the tool would be useful.

3. How do you use it?

Demonstrate the process step by step.

For example:

Step 1: Open MitaKit.

Step 2: Select the required tool ( if you chose to convert pdf to jpg for instance, ensure you have a pdf file uploaded and have it converted to  jpg. This applies to other conversions you make)
If you chose Whatsapp Link generator for instance, ensure your video captures you entering your whatsapp number and the outcome link, same applies if you are trying to generate a qr code too!

Some tools you cold demonstrate:

Step 3: Upload or enter the required information.

Step 4: Choose the appropriate options.

Step 5: Process the file or information.

Step 6: Download or use the result.

Your actual steps should reflect how the selected MitaKit tool works.

4. What is the benefit to the customer?

This is very important.

Do not confuse a feature with a benefit.

For example:

Feature: MitaKit can convert a PDF to JPG.

Benefit: A user can turn pages of a PDF into images that can easily be shared, uploaded to websites, inserted into presentations, or sent through messaging applications.

Another example:

Feature: MitaKit has a CGPA Calculator.

Benefit: A student can calculate their CGPA without manually performing several calculations and can use the result to monitor their academic performance.

Part 3 – Use Real Customer Scenarios

For every tool you demonstrate, create at least one realistic customer scenario.

For example:

Scenario: Student

Ada has received a lecture note as a PDF, but she needs one particular page as an image to include in her presentation.

Which MitaKit tool should she use?

Show how the appropriate tool solves Ada’s problem.

Scenario: University Student

David has received his semester results and wants to know his current CGPA.

Demonstrate how he can use the MitaKit CGPA Calculator to calculate it.

Your scenarios should help customers understand why they would use a particular tool, rather than merely showing them buttons to click.

Part 4 – Record Your Product Walkthrough With Loom

Your final walkthrough must be recorded using Loom.

Here is a Guide on How to set up Loom for this recording – Click here to Watch it

During the recording:

  • Introduce yourself as the Customer Onboarding Specialist.
  • Briefly introduce MitaKit and explain what the platform does.
  • Share your screen and open the MitaKit website.
  • Demonstrate at least five MitaKit tools.
  • Don’t just point at features — actually demonstrate how they work.
  • Explain a practical use case for each tool.
  • Explain the benefit the customer gets from using each tool.
  • Keep your explanation simple enough for a first-time user to understand.
  • End by briefly summarizing what the customer can accomplish with MitaKit.

Remember the Onboarding Formula

For each tool, think:

Customer Problem → MitaKit Feature → Demonstration → Customer Benefit

Part 5 – Publish Your Experience on LinkedIn

After completing your Loom walkthrough, create a short LinkedIn post documenting the project.

Your post should briefly explain:

  • That you completed a practical Customer Onboarding project.
  • That you worked with MitaKit as the product.
  • Your role as a Customer Onboarding Specialist in the project.
  • What you learned while exploring and demonstrating the product.
  • Some of the MitaKit features you demonstrated.
